Medium Mini Monstera
The Rhaphidophora Tetrasperma is commonly known as the Mini Monstera due to the almost identical leaf growth patter. This plant is a fast-growing tropical vine that sends its aerial roots out to explore the world. Unlike most vines, the roots prefer a trellis or moss pole as they seek out stabilization. Keep these plants away from pets who like to munch - Mini Monsteras contain calcium oxalate crystals which are highly toxic to pets.
MINI MONSTERA CARE
LIGHT
These plants are delightfully flexible when it comes to lighting. If you're planning on giving the plant full sun, make sure it's morning sun – afternoon sun is too hot and can burn your leaves. Otherwise, put the plant in a bright room, away from the direct sun coming in from the windows.
WATER
The mini Monsteras like to be moist, but can handle a short dry spell. Stick your finger in the soil at least 2" — if the soil is dry, give the plant a nice thorough watering until you see water draining from the bottom of the pot. These plants LOVE to drink, so keep an eye on them, you might need to water more frequently than you would with your other plants.
GROWTH HABITS
Moss poles are a helpful tool when it comes to encouraging exploration and growth, and they mimic the plants' natural environment. Mini Monsteras are very easy to propagate, just make sure you are including a node on any cutting you make. Place your cutting in a glass of water, making sure at least one node is submerged, this is where the roots will come out.
